"This type of Yoga has become dear to my heart as a business owner that manages two businesses. I needed a practice to help me recharge to continue doing the work I love," says Ashley. "Although I have always practiced gentle yoga, Restorative Yoga takes this further with lots of props and meditative practices. I hope to see you all soon!"

I wanted clients to know about this fabulous yoga practice that I participate in regularly from home, and with Ashley in her massage space (see pic).

Here’s some info about Restorative Yoga from Kneaded Bodyworks: The guiding principle of restorative yoga is that support creates release. The most obvious feature of restorative yoga is the array of props: blankets, bolsters and blocks support the body to release muscular tension.

Every pose is a variation on that theme and the aim of each pose is the same-relaxation. Holding supported postures anywhere between 2-10 minutes allows the muscles to release any holding patterns that develop with every day motions. Passive stretching can improve range of motion and mobility and help decrease pain.

  • Never stretch past the point of discomfort; stretching of any kind shouldn’t be painful.

  • Be gentle with your body and take it slow.

  • Always remember to breathe. This will bring oxygen to the muscles and help them to release.
